What is The NERD?

If you’ve come to this site, it means you have questions. You’ve either heard about The NERD from a friend or are worried that you might be infected yourself. It’s OK – that’s what tis site is here for, to answer questions and to give you more information about this pathogenic and misunderstood disease. It’s a place where afflicted and their friends and family can share stories, connect and lean on each other. Most importantly, it’s a network where information about the symptoms, spread and nature of the disease can be collected and accessed by the dedicated health professionals who are cataloging and trying to understand The NERD.

Infections are varied and can be mild cases of momentary lapse into nerdy behavior to full blown systemic contamination, where a person is unable to act like a normal, uninfected individual. In extreme cases, like the strain suspected to have affected Steve Irwin, it can be fatal. But most cases consist of mild to moderate mental and physical changes which are manageable.

A team of experts

Our team of elite experts is working hard to uncover the mysteries of The NERD.

As for me, I am a warrior fighting an unending battle, a scientist seeking to understand and document all known cases of The NERD. Me and my crew, an expert team of the leading scientists in the field, are on a mission. This emerging infectious disease is plaguing society, and yet we know next to nothing about all of its symptoms, origins or how virulent it really is. With information comes knowledge, and with knowledge comes power.

Please, feel free to peruse the documented cases and if you feel you or a loved one is afflicted, share your story. The NERD may not have a cure, but that doesn’t mean you have to isolate yourself or your loved one from the world. There are others that share the burden of infection, and together we are more than just afflicted souls – together, we will learn to understand and appreciate The NERD in all of us.

Never really considered NERD an infection before. Always sort of looked at it as a superior adaptation (or mutation in reaction) the technological world in which we live. Silly me.

That is, a superior adaptation (or mutation in reaction) TO the technological world in which we live.

Grammar NERD, and proud of it.
